PERCUSSION and much more…

Grammy-nominated percussionist Brian Slawson has been redefining the role of classical musicians since his scholarship days at The Juilliard School. His breakthrough album Bach On Wood reached Billboard’s Top 10 and became a landmark in classical crossover, helping bring classical music to new audiences worldwide. His solo releases on Columbia Masterworks, Sony Classical, and Belltone highlight his inventive approach to percussion and arrangement.

Brian has appeared on The Tonight Show, Entertainment Tonight, CBS, and NPR, and has performed with musical giants such as Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Itzhak Perlman, Jessye Norman, and Joshua Bell. Beyond the concert hall, he’s recorded with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Marie Osmond, and backed comedians like Jerry Seinfeld and Eddie Murphy. His music has been featured in hundreds of commercials for brands like Coca-Cola, IBM, McDonald's, and Budweiser.

As Principal Timpanist of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and a regular performer at Lincoln Center’s Meet the Artist series, Brian blends performance with education. He’s a featured artist in major music curriculums by Warner Bros. and McGraw-Hill, and his compositions are published by Alfred Music and Tapspace. Through his media company, Slawsongs, he produces custom music for film, television, and Warner Bros. Discovery networks.

A proud endorser of Ludwig-Musser, Zildjian, Vic Firth, and others, Brian studied under percussion legends Saul Goodman and Buster Bailey. Jazz great Lionel Hampton called him “one of the finest percussionists to come along in many years,” while Modern Drummer hails him as “a visionary—performer, producer, and composer.”
